Hope

by IvoryLady

Dedicated to Tracey, Brian's mom.

---

It had almost left me, it was almost gone,
But with all of my failing strength I held on.
There was only a gossamer thread at first.
How my soul did long for it, hunger and thirst.
I searched and searched for it, everywhere 'round,
It seemed that all appeared was desolate, barren ground.
But, then I saw a glimmer, a halo of light... felt the touch
My empty soul had yearned for so very much.
It simply returned through nothing I had done,
Mercy and grace once more returned.
That lost treasure became found
And fulfilling joy in my life does abound.
As slender as it was, who would have thought,
That a radiantly shining strand of hope
Was the miracle that flowed into my hollow heart?
